Distinguishing the Divine Law of Jesus and the Carnal Law of Worldly Religions
- The Law of Jesus: The Law of the Divine – Rebirth of the Soul
The Law of Jesus is not the law of an earthly nation, nor does it belong to any religious system of the world. It is the law of the Divine, which comes from grace and truth – from God Himself through Christ.
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17)
This law touches the spirit – not only correcting external behavior, but regenerating the spirit inside the person, causing the soul to be resurrected in the Holy Spirit, becoming new.
- The Law of the Flesh: The Law of Worldly Religions and Institutions
In contrast, worldly religions and institutions, including the Mosaic law in the Old Testament, are only carnal laws – focusing on:
External behavior.
Ritual Form.
Social Management.
Protecting Cultural Traditions – But Not Changing the Heart.
“For if the law could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.” (Galatians 3:21)
While the law can punish sin, it cannot regenerate the soul.
- Old Testament Israel – Having the Law, But Lacking Salvation
Under the Old Covenant, the Israelites were given the Mosaic Law to maintain order and testify to God’s holiness. But they lacked the power to live by that law, because it could not change the heart.
“The law is a shadow of good things to come, not an image of the reality.” (Hebrews 10:1)
Only when Jesus came, people were given the Spirit – the power to live according to God’s will, not by their own strength, but by grace and faith.
- Conclusion: Choose the Law of Rebirth or the Law of the Flesh?
✅ The Law of Jesus: Rebirth of the soul, transforming people from within, leading to eternal life.
❌ Religious Law: Managing society, preserving traditions, but cannot save the soul.
Therefore, if you only live according to the laws of religion or society, you may be a good citizen – but not necessarily a reborn human being. Only when you receive the grace of Jesus, you become a true child of God, living in the Kingdom of Heaven – even though you are still on this earth.
