Jesus is the Only Name of Salvation
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” ACT.4.12
Salvation comes only through the Name of God
Psalm 68 God is our Savior. (Selah) 20 Our God is a God of salvation; through the Lord we are delivered from death.
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Joel 2:32).
Romans 10:13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
At this point, people can recognize that the Name of Jesus is the only Name of God. And only through this one Name of God can they be saved. The names in the Bible are all names, qualities, honorifics, referring to characteristics, titles, and positions. And so the people of Israel have never been accurately revealed about the Name of God. So they were revealed to wait for the “Messiah” to come to the earth. That is, God brings His Name of Salvation to the earth. Because only God is the Savior through His only name.
John 1:1-18 In the beginning the Word[a] was, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)
ISAIAH 43 10Before me there was no God formed, and there will be none after me. 11I, even I, am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior. 12I have declared, I have saved, I have warned, 14the LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, 15I, the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. …you have not called upon me; you have rejected me, O Israel!
Christ is twice called the Almighty (or Sovereign) (2 Peter 2:1; Jude 4).
The Names:
ADONAI “Elohim”, “Adonai” (Hebrew), “Kyrion”, “Theos” (Greek), “Lord”, “God”. Like the title Elohim, Adonai is the plural form of majesty. The singular form means “lord, master, master, possessor” (Gen 19:2; 40:1; 1Sa 1:15). In the common sense, this word is used to refer to the relationship between people (like master and servant, (Ex 21:1-6). When used to refer to the relationship between God and people, this title conveys the idea of God’s absolute authority. Joshua recognized the authority of the Captain of the Lord’s Army (Josh 5:14), and Isaiah submitted to the authority of God. 4. He is the Savior (1 Tim 1:1; 2:3; 4:10; Tit 1:3; 2:13; 3:4). He sent His Son as our Redeemer (John 3:16) and gave Him up to die for us (Rom 8:32).
(English), “Lord”, “God” (Vietnamese) is NOT a proper name.
“LORD” in English, here, corresponds to the character יְ֭הוָה is found in the original Hebrew book of Proverbs. This Hebrew character consists of consonants, transliterated into Latin characters, as: YHWH.
“YHVH” means ‘I AM THAT I AM.’ “I Am.” The word “Is” in the sense of existence, presence.
The name Yahweh, or Jehovah, (translated into English as I AM, I AM, or I AM), is a unique name of God, which only He alone bears.
In the book of Revelation of the New Testament, Jesus said: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the One who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” (1:8).
This name was used by Eve (Genesis 4:1), by the people in the time of Seth (verse 26), by Noah (9:26), and by Abraham (12:8; 15:2,8). But the deeper meaning of this name was revealed to Moses himself. God said that although He had appeared to the patriarchs, He had not yet revealed to them this name Yahweh (Exodus 6:3). The fullest and deepest meaning of this name was not yet known. This revelation came to Moses at the burning bush, when God identified Himself as “I AM WHO I AM” (3:14), with the main idea that God had become present with the people of Israel.
