BELIEVE IN JESUS – RICH OR POOR?

BELIEVE IN JESUS – RICH OR POOR?

You are wondering: Will believing in Jesus make you rich or poor?

This question seems simple, but it reflects a very real thing – because we humans often associate faith with material blessings, and most of us do not want to be poor.

So what does the Bible teach?

  1. JESUS – HE WAS RICH, HE CHOSE TO BECOME POOR

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”

(2 Corinthians 8:9)

Jesus is the One of eternal glory, He lacked nothing – but humbled Himself to a lowly life, born in a manger, living without a home, to save you and me.

He chose to become poor, so that we might be given true riches – riches in spirit, riches in faith, riches in eternal hope.

  1. POOR IN MATERIALS – RICH IN FAITH

“Has not God chosen those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?”

(James 2:5)

God does not discriminate between rich and poor – but he favors the poor, because their hearts are more open to the kingdom of heaven. Poverty does not prevent blessing – on the contrary, it can be an environment that nurtures deep faith.

True wealth does not come from a bank account – it comes from a living relationship with the Creator.

  1. BE RICH IN EVERY THING – IT STARTS WITH THE SOUL

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

(3 John 1:2)

God wants you to be blessed – but true prosperity begins with the soul. When your soul is filled with the Word of God, every other aspect of your life will fall into place.

  1. BE BLESSED – NOT TO STORE, BUT TO GIVE

“And when they opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

(Matthew 2:11)

The three wise men from the East brought precious treasures to the baby Jesus – because they recognized Him as King, the Savior.
The truly rich in the Kingdom of Heaven are those who are willing to give.

CONCLUSION: RICH OR POOR IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS WHO YOU BELONG TO

Believing in Jesus does not guarantee you great wealth – but it does guarantee you eternal peace, hope, and happiness.

And when God is the Lord of your life, all your needs will be provided for according to His glorious riches.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

(Matthew 6:33)

So, don’t ask: Does believing in God make you rich?

Ask: With God, am I really rich?

AMEN.
