Why Are You Attacked After Praying?

Why Are You Attacked After Praying?

Have you ever wondered why after a powerful prayer session, you seem to face more challenges? This question is not as complicated as it seems. When you are powerful in prayer, you are like a ship moving through a storm, battling the forces of darkness. Your prayers are powerful, they disrupt the kingdom of darkness and set others free. Then, when the “storm” subsides, peace returns – this is the result of God’s intervention, reflecting His power and mercy.

It is important to understand that this peace is not the end of the demonic attacks. It is like the calm after the storm, a quiet moment before another storm hits.

The Devil Doesn’t Give Up: They Regroup and Attack Stronger
When you go into prayer mode and fight the forces of darkness, your prayers cause a lot of chaos and destruction in that kingdom. They not only free you, but they also free others. After you finish praying, these forces of darkness do not go away or rest. Instead, they regroup, planning how to attack you again, often with double the number of attacks than before.

This is why sometimes when you pray, everything seems to go back to normal, and the problems you prayed against suddenly return. You wonder where these attacks came from. As scary as this may seem, remember that it is a testament to the power of your prayers. You have broken the kingdom of darkness, and now they are fighting for control.

Put on Spiritual Armor and Stay Alert
Think of spiritual warfare as a honey collector. The most important thing is not the honey, but the protective suit that the person wears. If there is a small hole in the protective suit, the bees will find a way to sting the person severely. Similarly, when you fight the devil, their focus is to find a small way, a crack to penetrate.

Some people engage in spiritual warfare when there is sin in their lives, not realizing that their “armor” has many cracks. For some others, they decide to rest after praying and think that everything is over, but they are wrong. The devil always learns from his mistakes. He will learn what you did last time that caused him to lose so that he can strategize better against you next time.

When you start praying and start seeing breakthroughs, don’t stop or think that the battle is over. The spiritual world does not operate on our earthly timetable. The reason you have peace after praying is because God intervened, but that does not mean the devil will never attack you again. If you are under attack in the areas of finances, marriage, work, or any other area where God intervenes, do not rest and stop praying. Always remember that the forces of darkness will gather to come back to fight you, and when they do, they will not come to lose, but to defeat you.

They often attack when you least expect it, not when you are at your spiritual peak or when you feel strong and ready to fight. They will choose the time when you are most vulnerable, when you are tired, distracted, and off guard. The devil will intensify his attacks, sometimes using other people to attack you, causing confusion, sadness, or anger, distracting you from your prayers.

The Power of Faith and Spiritual Equipping
The devil attacks not because he is powerful, but because he fears and trembles at the power of a praying believer. He fears your prayers, the power of God working through you, and the breakthrough and liberation your prayers can bring.

However, let us not forget that we serve the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present God. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. The issue is not the power of the devil, but the power of our faith. Our faith is the shield that will quench all the arrows of the evil one.

Ephesians 6 says that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and the rulers of darkness and the forces of the air. Most importantly, we must put on the armor of God to withstand the evil days – the days when the devil begins to attack you when you least expect it.

The Bible says that the righteous have many afflictions, but God delivers them from all of them. This means that no one is immune to the attacks of the enemy; you will be attacked until the day you leave this world. The parable of the sower in Matthew 13:18-23 shows that the devil is like a bird, always waiting for an opportunity to steal the results of your prayers.

This is not a one-time battle, but an ongoing spiritual war, a constant tug-of-war between light and darkness. After your prayer, while you are immersed in quiet contemplation, the forces of darkness are gathering. They plot to rob you of your peace, joy, and breakthrough. They want to drag you back into darkness and will use any means necessary, whether it is finances, relationships, or work.

You must never give up, because if you give up, you will lose. In the battle between light and darkness, there is no retreat or surrender. Demons are not dead; they are immortal spirits and will reappear. Only God can destroy them, but you cannot.

Be constantly vigilant. This is not only an option but a necessity. Spiritual armor protects us from the attacks of the enemy. Arm yourself with the Word of God, with strength, with salvation, with righteousness, with the sword of the Spirit, with the belt of truth, and with the shield of faith. All of these will help you stand firm against the attacks of the enemy.

Our prayer is that God will always help us to be vigilant, to stand firm, and to have the fire of the Holy Spirit. His infinite power will continue to give you the strength you need.
