THE DIVINE IS NOT MATERIAL. A society cannot function or develop by itself if it is viewed as a mass of matter. Society is not an entity with a common will, but a collection of free-willed people – individuals with souls, created with separate purposes and values.
Similarly, a nation or organization cannot exist as a thinking individual, because it is itself a community of divine beings, not an arbitrary will.
The Bible says: God did not create an organization, a system, or a society in His image, but He created a human being – Adam – in His image and with His living breath:
“And the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” – Genesis 2:7
It is the breath of God’s Spirit that creates the spirit within man – that is the fundamental difference between man and other creatures.
Spirit – The power that distinguishes man
Unlike animals that live only by instinct, man has the ability to speak, think, create, choose, and love. Human speech is an expression of the spirit, because “The Word is Spirit and life” (John 6:63).
Therefore, language is evidence that man has a nature that is superior to matter. A human being cannot be reduced to a product of materialism. We are divine beings – carrying the breath of God within us, capable of communicating with the Creator.
Conclusion:
A sustainable society is one that respects the human spirit – not imposing it on a soulless materialistic system. Each human being is a sacred individual – created in the image of God – with a voice, freedom, and responsibility before the Creator. .
