SEVEN WAYS GOD DELIVERS YOU
The Bible teaches that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13). Even though we are saved, we still live in the midst of spiritual warfare. Here are seven ways God delivers us:
- Through the Word
In Matthew 8:16, God used His word to cast out demons and heal. Many spiritual problems are solved when you have a deep understanding of God’s Word. Deliverance sometimes does not require the intervention of others, but comes when you immerse yourself in the Bible, allowing God’s Word to automatically break the invisible chains. - Avoid what leads to sin
Some deliverances only come when you avoid what invites the enemy. As Jesus said to the man healed at the pool of Bethesda, “Sin no more, or something worse may come to you” (John 5:14). Forgiveness, letting go of bitterness, and giving up bad habits are steps that open the door to freedom. - Through spiritual warfare
God has won the battle, but you still have to fight. Paul emphasized, “Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). The devil constantly attacks those who are living fruitful lives and disrupts his plans. Prayer is not a ritual, but a weapon to maintain freedom in Christ. - Through obedience
You may have power in Christ, but you have no authority unless you live under obedience. As the Roman centurion said, “I am under authority, so I have authority” (Matthew 8:9). When you submit to God, the devil submits to you. - Through Faith
Like Abraham who believed God’s promise despite the odds (Romans 4:20-21), faith is the foundation for deliverance. Strong faith keeps you grounded in the storm and opens the way for breakthrough. - Through Practical Obedience
You don’t just believe, you do. In Luke 17:14, ten lepers were healed when they obediently presented themselves to the priest. Deliverance often occurs when you act on God’s direction, no matter how strange or simple it may seem. - Through Proclaiming the Word
Proclaiming the Word of God is not a spell, but a declaration of faith against the enemy. As David said to Goliath, “In the name of the Lord I come against you” (1 Samuel 17:45), the declaration has the power to make the devil retreat.
Prayer:
Lord, we declare Your deliverance over our lives. Break every spiritual shackle and teach us to obey, trust, and walk in Your Word. We claim the victory in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
