Jesus – The One God and the Only Savior. First, the Book of Genesis affirms a fundamental truth:
God is the only true God – there is no one else worthy of worship besides Him.
“The Lord our God is the only true God.” (Mark 12:32)
“God is the only true God.” (John 5:44)
“I am the First and the Last; besides Me there is no God.” (Isaiah 44:6)
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God.” (John 17:3)
From these verses, we are assured that:
There is only one true, eternal, and one God – and He alone is worthy of our trust and worship.
More importantly, however, the Book of the Word confirms:
God himself – the one true God – is also the only Savior.
“I, even I, am the Lord; and besides me there is no Savior.” (Isaiah 43:11)
No one else – be it angel, man, or any other entity in the universe – can be called the Savior, except God Himself.
Any addition or subtraction to this truth is heresy. And anyone – either claiming to be, or being claimed by others – the Savior other than God, is the “Antichrist,” the “False Savior.”
This is confirmed by the Holy Spirit through the words of the apostle John:
“By this you know that the Spirit is from God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus is the Messiah has come in the flesh is from God. And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God—it is the spirit of the Antichrist…”
(1 John 4:2–3)
The key point here is:
“Jesus is the Messiah.”
This is the sign to recognize the true spirit—the true worship in truth.
The Name of Jesus—God’s Name Revealed to Man
The angel said to Joseph:
“You will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
(Matthew 1:21)
And this is made even clearer in the book of Acts:
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12)
The only Name, the only Savior, the only God
Jesus is the only Name that saves.
Jesus is the only Savior.
And because there is only one Savior, Jesus is the only God.
There is no other name that saves except the Name of Jesus. That Name is the revealed Name – a Name from eternity that has entered into humanity, opening the way into the Holy of Holies.
The veil of the temple has been torn, meaning that humanity can now approach God – see Him, enter into His presence – through the Name of Jesus.
That Name is the mystery of God – hidden for ages, now revealed.
What is true worship?
According to Matthew 1:21 and 1 John 4, whoever confesses Jesus as Savior has the Spirit from God. That is worship in truth. On the contrary, whoever does not confess that Name does not belong to God.
Summary:
From three biblical foundations:
(1) God is the only true God,
(2) God is the only Savior,
(3) Jesus is the only Savior,
We come to an undeniable conclusion:
Jesus is the One God – the One True God – and the Only Savior.
