THE INVISIBLE WAR: WHEN THE ENEMY WATCHES AND ACCUSES THE CHOSEN
Christian families are facing an increasing attack from spiritual forces. Many believers do not realize that Satan operates as a prosecutor in a heavenly legal system. He relentlessly watches, gathers information, and accuses God’s people day and night before the throne of God.
His goal is not your salvation, which is secured by faith in Jesus. Instead, he attacks you based on a deep understanding of God’s Word, aiming to undermine your authority, hinder your blessing, and cause havoc in your life. This article will expose the enemy’s strategy and equip you to overcome it.
- THE “COURT” IN HEAVEN: HOW SATAN WORKS
Satan does not attack believers randomly. He knows that you are a child of the Most High, so he needs a “legal basis” to act.
When a believer backslides, Satan immediately gathers evidence. He does not make up stories; he uses God’s own Word – the very verses that condemn that sin – as a weapon to bring charges against you before the throne of God.
When you are angry: He will quote Matthew 5:22, where Jesus said that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.
When you commit sexual sin: He will read 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Hebrews 13:4, emphasizing that God will judge the sexually immoral.
When you lie: He will use Colossians 3:9, where the Bible tells us to put off the old self and not lie to one another.
In this way, he argues that you are unworthy of God’s favor because you have broken His law. He puts pressure on God’s righteousness, hoping that God will allow him to attack you, as he “demanded to sift” Peter (Luke 22:31).
- THE SUPREME ADVOCATE: THE INTERVENTION OF JESUS
But the good news is that in the midst of these accusations, we are not alone. Jesus Christ, who died and rose again, is at the right hand of the Father and intercedes for us (Romans 8:34).
When Satan makes his accusations, Jesus steps in as our Advocate. He does not argue about our sins; instead, He points to the Cross and declares:
“Father, this man has sinned, it is true. But my blood has been shed for their sins. My sacrifice is complete, and this man has been washed white as snow.”
The blood of Jesus speaks louder than any accusations from the enemy. His intervention renders Satan’s accusations ineffective.
- THE ROLE OF THE BELIEVER: LIVING IN VICTORY
Knowing this does not mean that we are free to live in sin. Grace is not a license to sin. On the contrary, willful sin opens the door to Satan’s attack. Therefore, we must be proactive in this spiritual battle:
Repent quickly: When you stumble, confess your sins quickly. 1 John 1:9 promises, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Repentance immediately disarms the enemy.
Put on spiritual armor (Ephesians 6): Stand firm in the faith, taking up the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to refute the lies and accusations of the devil.
Renew your mind (2 Corinthians 10:5): Take every thought captive to obey Christ. Don’t let Satan’s accusations sow doubt and condemnation in your mind.
When we live in holiness and obedience, Satan loses his basis for accusation. Greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world.
PRAYER TO DISMISS ACCUSATIONS
Almighty Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You that by faith we have been able to enter firmly into this grace. Father, we pray that the blood of Jesus, which is more powerful than the blood of Abel, will silence every accusation, slander, and deception of our enemies against us.
We declare that You are faithful and just, forgiving all our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. By the power of the Cross, we are washed, restored, and made righteous at this very moment. Every stain of sin has been completely erased by Your redeeming blood.
We ask You to destroy every plan our enemies use to accuse us. May the intercession of the great High Priest, Jesus Christ, nullify all authority and legal basis for such accusations. For Your Word says, as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins.
In Your judgment seat and through the blood of Jesus, we are vindicated and accepted. We declare that we are saved by grace, not by works. No accusation can
