True Peace: The Wonderful Result of Freedom
Peace – a deep human desire, is often misunderstood and even distorted in many religious teachings. Many authoritarian religions today, ingeniously and diabolically, preach “peace in adversity.” They introduce concepts such as “peace in the prison of poverty,” “peace in the prison of sickness,” “peace in the prison of failure,” or “peace in the prison of disaster.” This is completely contrary to the nature of freedom preached by the Bible, especially through the teachings of Jesus. Jehu did not say that peace can come while “Jezebel” (i.e., the forces of evil, wrong, rule) are still present.
The Delusion of the Modern “Pharisees”
The teachings of the modern “Pharisees” (a term used to describe hypocrites who are formalists and who keep their followers in bondage) often ignore the path to true freedom. Instead of showing people how to escape the “prisons” of life and attain peace, they demand that believers “be at peace in spite of themselves.” This means accepting circumstances without seeking relief, accepting suffering without believing in the possibility of change.
Sadly, this approach completely ignores the great grace of the Lord YesHWaH, who paid a terrible price on the cross to give us freedom. He does not want us to live in bondage to circumstances or false teachings.
How to Receive God’s Grace of Freedom?
This is the core of the matter that we need to teach, not to charm or lull the minds of Christians. The freedom that God offers is not a vague idea, but a powerful reality, clearly stated in the Bible:
Galatians 5:1: “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” This calls us to take hold of the freedom that has been given and to be determined not to return to slavery in any form.
John 8:36: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” This is the sure promise of Jesus himself. True liberation comes from Him, from the chains of sin, from the burdens of the law, and from the restraints of men.
2 Corinthians 3:17: “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” The presence of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life brings inner freedom, freeing us from fear, anxiety, and spiritual bondage.
To receive the grace of freedom that God has given to every Christian, we need to:
Understand the ransom: Recognize that this freedom is not something we earn, but is a priceless gift from the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
Trust completely: Put all your faith in the liberating power of Jesus, instead of relying on your own strength or false doctrines.
Live by God’s Word: Use the Bible as a compass to distinguish truth from falsehood, not letting yourself be deceived by demonic preaching.
Let the Spirit Lead: Pray and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, for He will guide us into all truth and help us experience true freedom.
True peace is not a passive acceptance of adversity, but the result of being set free from those chains by the power of Jesus. It is the peace that comes from a free heart, an unfettered spirit, and a life delivered from the “prisons” of this world.
