Why Is “Holiness” Freedom?

Why Is “Holiness” Freedom? “I am holy, so be holy.” – God’s Word is not only a command, but also an invitation for each person to enter a life of true freedom – freedom in holiness.

Man – every human spirit – is created in the image of God, so his nature is inherently holy. Maintaining holiness is not just keeping oneself clean and pure, but also the highest act of freedom – freedom from sin, impurity and everything that leads to spiritual slavery.

“Holiness” is living according to the nature that God has placed in man. That is why holiness is not a moral burden, but a liberation from things that degrade man and make him lose his divine image.

On the contrary, sin is a rebellion against God’s nature.

Idolatry is the denial of the Creator.

Murder is a violation of His image in man.

Fornication is the defilement of one’s own body – the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Divination and sorcery are seeking the power of darkness instead of the Holy One.

Lying and gossip are an affront to the truth – which is a reflection of God.

True freedom is freedom from sin to live in holiness. This is the path of those who belong to Jesus Christ – the perfect image of God, and the model for our holy life today.
