Faith Is Believing in the Word of God

Faith Is Believing in the Word of God

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Matthew 4:4

  1. Faith Is Not Based on Feelings – It Is Based on Spoken Words

Faith is not a positive feeling, or a vague hope.

Faith is the conviction of the Word that has been spoken by God, even though the eye has not seen it, the hand has not touched it, and the circumstances have not changed.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” —2 Corinthians 5:7

  1. From Whom Does the Word Come?

“In the past God spoke to our fathers by the prophets at many times and in various ways; but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.”

— Hebrews 1:1-2

The Word came through the prophets – inspired by the Holy Spirit.

And finally, the Word became flesh in Jesus Christ – the only one who embodies God among men.

Therefore, every word spoken through Jesus is the word of God.

  1. What is Faith According to the Bible?

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1

Not seeing, yet believing.

Not understanding, yet obeying.

Not like the waves of the sea, but firm as a rock.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God… but let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”

— James 1:5-6

  1. Faith Must Have a Foundation – It Is the Word of God

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

Romans 10:17

Faith does not come from wishful thinking or blind speculation.

Faith begins when a word from God is planted in the heart – like a living seed.

You cannot “make” faith – you receive it when you receive His Word and hold on to it faithfully.

  1. Believe in Future Things – Even If They Have Not Happened Yet

Abraham is called the “father of faith” because:

He believed the promise that he would have a great family – even though he was old and barren.

He was willing to sacrifice his son – because he believed that God could raise the dead.

“He was convinced that what God had promised, God was also able to perform.”

Romans 4:21

Conclusion: Do You Believe the Word That Has Been Spoken to You?

You may have heard many words from men.

But the Word of God alone brings true faith – faith that can move mountains, heal souls, and open supernatural paths in the deserts of life.

“We do not live by feelings…
We do not walk by sight…
But we live by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Read it – Keep it – Believe it – And walk it.
For the Word is life, truth, and faith in action.
