Landlords The Sacred Right on the Ancestral Land

Landlords – The Sacred Right on the Ancestral Land
Today, many people are willing to sell their ancestral land in exchange for immediate happiness. The gardens and fields that their ancestors had cultivated and preserved through many hardships – fighting wild animals, overcoming bandits – are now being exchanged by them for a little money that quickly runs out. They do not know that they have sold both their human rights and their divine nature given to them by God.

They are no different from Esau, who, for a bowl of red bean soup, sold his birthright – a human right that is associated with sacred responsibility and blessings. And then, even though he repented and shed tears, that right no longer belonged to him. (Hebrews 12:16–17)

Whose Land Belongs to?

The Bible teaches that “the land belongs to the LORD,” but He gives each clan, each family the right to care for and inherit according to His law. No one – including kings and officials – has the right to take it away.

“Your land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine; you are strangers and sojourners with me.”
—Leviticus 25:23

Once you sell your land for temporary gain, ask yourself:
What if your descendants want to buy it back?
When the land price is inflated by speculators or manipulating officials, will you still be able to keep your roots on the land?

The money from selling the land will eventually run out, but when the land is lost, the entire family bloodline will be uprooted.

Ancient Example: Naboth’s Vineyard
Naboth was a faithful citizen who had a vineyard that his ancestors had left him. King Ahab and his wife Jezebel coveted it, wanting to turn it into a palace vegetable garden.

“Give me your vineyard, for it is near my palace.”
But Naboth replied, “The LORD forbid that I should give you the land of my ancestors!” — 1 Kings 21:2–3

Jezebel then used her authority to frame Naboth and had him executed. Then they took the vineyard as their own.

But the LORD saw it all. He said to Ahab:

“Where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick up your blood.” — 1 Kings 21:19

So clearly, God condemns the taking of land from common people, even if the person is a powerful king.

Kings Have No Right Over Land
King David, when he wanted to buy Araunah’s land to build an altar to offer sacrifices to the Lord, refused to accept it for free.

“No! I will buy your land for a fair price, for I will not offer to the Lord an offering without paying.” — 2 Samuel 24:24

Even a holy king must respect the rights of his people to own land.

Conclusion: Land – Not Just Property, But Blessing
Land is not just wealth, but a sacred heritage associated with the dignity, blessings, and responsibilities of each family.

A person who has land and maintains respect for God is a truly rich person.

Selling ancestral land for immediate profit is an act of cutting off one’s spiritual roots.

Do not let yourself – and your descendants – live in slavery, on the very land that your ancestors shed blood to protect.
