HAVE YOU HAD A BAD DREAM? DO THIS IMMEDIATELY
Have you ever woken up from a bad dream feeling confused and anxious? If so, don’t ignore it. Many dreams are God’s way of warning us about things that might happen, so that we can pray and take the right action.
- Reject the Dream Immediately in Prayer
The Bible says in Job 33:14–18 that God uses dreams to warn and protect our souls from danger. Bad dreams don’t always come from the devil; sometimes they are a warning from God for you to pray and prepare.
When you wake up, pray immediately, don’t wait until morning. If you wait, you may forget the details or miss the right time to pray. Even if the dream seems harmless, ask God to reveal its meaning and what you should do about it.
Like Pharaoh’s dream of famine (Genesis 41), if he had not responded, all of Egypt would have been destroyed. A dream only becomes bad if you do nothing about it.
- Keep Quiet and Tell No One (Unless Necessary)
After praying, do not tell the bad dream to anyone, unless it is someone spiritually mature, such as a pastor or intercessor. Telling it may cause you to inadvertently receive what you rejected in your prayer.
James 3:5–6 warns about the power of words—they can “set a person’s life on fire.” When you tell a negative dream, you may instill fear instead of faith.
If your spouse is a strong prayer partner, you can share your intercession (Ecclesiastes 4:9). However, do not declare negative dreams haphazardly.
TOOLS FOR SPIRITUAL WAR
Pray with God’s Word: Use Bible verses to reverse the negative content (e.g., Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:17, 2 Corinthians 10:4–5).
Stay strong: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power…” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Focus on good: Philippians 4:8 tells us to think about what is true, right, and pure.
CONCLUSION
Bad dreams do not determine your fate—your response does. With God’s authority, you can pray, say no, keep your mind at peace, and walk in victory. Remember: you are the prophet of your own life.
PRAYER
“Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We reject every bad dream, every form of spiritual attack from the enemy. Please protect and instruct us, help us to be sensitive to your word and not to spread fear. May your word be our weapon to tear down every enemy. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.”
