SHOCKING THINGS THAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU FORGET TO PRAY

SHOCKING THINGS THAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU FORGET TO PRAY
In Matthew 26:41, Jesus warns, “Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Prayer is more than a moral habit—it is the spiritual breath of the believer. When you stop praying, you move away from God’s presence and become vulnerable to the devil.

Satan cannot touch a believer who is living in God’s presence. But he will try to pull you out of communion with God—just as he isolated Eve in Genesis 3. When you stop praying, you leave yourself vulnerable.

Many Christians fall into this trap: they stop going to church, stop reading the Bible, stop praying, thinking that God “inside” is enough. But when they are separated from their communion with God, they are vulnerable to temptation and disorientation.

Satan attacks through inertia: you know you need to pray but you feel tired and sluggish. You can stay up for hours surfing the internet but not be able to pray for more than a few minutes. This is not normal fatigue – it is spiritual oppression.

Jesus warned the disciples to stay awake and pray, but they fell asleep and then fell apart when the test came. Peter – who had walked with Jesus – denied Him three times. All because of not praying. When you are not spiritually prepared, you will be swept away by temptation and fleshly reactions.

Don’t wait until you are in trouble to pray. When you pray, you are building a spiritual fence of protection around yourself. When you wake up one day and everything seems to be upside down – arguments, pressure, instability – chances are you have neglected to pray. These little things are the enemy’s bait to draw you away from God.

Daniel is a good example. He prayed and fasted for 21 days. Even though he didn’t see immediate results, he didn’t give up. An angel told him that his prayer had been answered from the first day, but there was opposition in heaven (Daniel 10:12–14). If he had given up, he wouldn’t have received an answer.

Remember: today’s prayer can save you from something bad in the future. Don’t underestimate delay—it’s not rejection. The enemy will try to sow doubt: “If God loved you, He would have answered you.” Don’t believe him. Persevere in faith.

Don’t be like Esau—he was impatient and traded eternal blessings for a bowl of soup. Be steadfast, don’t give up on prayer just because you don’t see results. Satan knows that prayer destroys his kingdom, so he will fight you in every way.

When you feel tired, distracted, or lacking the motivation to pray – that is a sign that you need to pray more than ever. Breakthroughs often come after the hardest moments. Stand firm, because the victory is yours in Christ.

In Mark 11:24, Jesus said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” So keep praying – even if you don’t see immediate results – because God is at work. Don’t let today’s silence make you give up.
