SLAVES, MONITORING SPIRITS, AND THE BATTLE BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARKNESS
OPENING YOUR SPIRITUAL EYES
One of the devil’s most subtle strategies is to monitor and extinguish the spiritual fire of his chosen ones. Not all temptations come suddenly – many attacks begin with observation, noting, and looking for loopholes.
In the spiritual realm, there are evil spirits assigned to monitor every child of God – especially those who have the potential to destroy Satan’s dark work. Their goal is to cool your faith, extinguish your holy fire, and drag you back into the flesh.
SPIRITUAL LIGHT IS AN IDENTIFICATION MARK
When you are born again, God places a spiritual light within you. It is this light that sets you apart from the world, and it is also what the forces of darkness identify you with:
“You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14)
“I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness…” (John 8:12)
That light is not created by you – it comes from Christ in you. However, it can weaken if you do not remain in prayer, connection, and obedience to God. When the light fades, you become vulnerable.
HOLY FIRE – ZEAL LEVEL
“He will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11)
“His servant will be like a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7)
The fire within you is a symbol of your zeal, love, and spiritual strength. If you do not feed it with the Word, prayer, and obedience, it will die out—and Satan will begin his attack.
The devil cannot penetrate you while you are filled with the fire of God. But when the fire goes out, you expose “cracks”—places for evil spirits to watch, take note, and begin to tempt you at your weak spots.
HOW DOES THE DEVIL WATCH?
“That we may not be deceived by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)
The devil is not omnipresent like God, but he does assign agents to watch you. These “supervision spirits” monitor your life, your habits, your weaknesses—and plan personalized strategies.
For example:
If your weakness is lust, it will bring you sexual images, provocative people, or pornography online to cause you to fall.
If you are easily angered, the devil will incite relatives, co-workers, or neighbors to provoke you with harsh, unfair words.
That is how the devil monitors – analyzes – tempts – and turns you away from the fire of God.
A WARNING TO SERVANTS OF THE LORD
Don’t think that only believers are being monitored. Throughout the history of the Church, many pastors, missionaries, and ministers who once lived holy lives fell because of long-standing flaws. Satan waits, watches, and attacks when you are at your weakest.
“When the devil had finished all the temptations, he left Him for a while.” (Luke 4:13)
(A temporary separation – that is, a return when the opportunity arises.)
That is why Paul advises:
“Put on the full armor of God… for we do not fight against flesh and blood…” (Ephesians 6:11–12)
HOW TO STAND?
Recognize the real battle – Don’t be spiritually naive. You are in the midst of an invisible war.
Keep the fire burning with the Word and prayer – The fire does not burn spontaneously; you must maintain it daily.
Repent promptly if you sin – The enemy uses delay in repentance to cool you down.
Put on the armor of God – Truth, righteousness, godliness, salvation, the Word, and intercession.
Captivate every thought to obey Christ – Be vigilant in your mind.
GOD IS WITH YOU
Despite the devil’s cunning tactics, you are not alone. God is faithful – if you repent, He will forgive and restore you:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins…” (1 John 1:9)
Do not let the spiritual fire within you be extinguished. Be watchful, be vigilant, and walk in the light. For you are children of the light, and that light must burn until the Lord returns. Amen.
